In 2008, ASQ's State of the Society announced the Quality Body of Knowledge (QBOK®) strategic management framework. In April of 2009, a QBOK advisory group completed version 1.0 of the framework for release throughout and beyond ASQ’s membership.
The main components of the QBOK framework are:
- A model representing the quality journey as a progression from the pursuit of operational and organizational excellence to the pursuit of the quality ideal.
- A categorization scheme that identifies topics over which the Society has stewardship.
- A process model defining ASQ’s stewardship role in the strategic management of QBOK content, including identification of future topics and areas of focus, collection and analysis of voice of the customer data, content acquisition and development, portfolio management, and content dissemination.
More information can be found on ASQ's website.
