using the Responsible feature

I find the possibility of making someone responsible for a task creating from a reply to his/her email an excellent concept.
However, I would like to add this important information in customized places. Specifically I tried to add a column in the regular outlook Tasks list. I thought I would find Responsible or some such it among the fields to select from, and failed. So far its use then is only from the Planning icon, which is less than great, esp. since the info from that and similar icons is very slow in coming up.
Any help?

Responsible Field Location
The Responsible is stored in a UserProperty and is not exposed as a field by itself in Outlook. In the 2007 version, for consolidation purposes, the fields are combined in an unfriendly user way. I will be changing that in the 2010 version.
I use the Responsible field in two ways:
1) When I conduct one on one meetings with folks, e.g. people that I manage, I use the Planning tab for their contact to help me remember what I had asked folks to do.
2) When I'm interested in a project view, I 'Center On' the tasks within a project in the Project Explorer mind map. Which show me all tasks for a project with over due tasks highlighted as red boxes and people's names visible. Additionally, I can mouseover the boxes and get more detail for each task.
