Failing to register license.

Hello, I am failing to register my bought license Outlook Organizer at the end of the trial period. It works to login through website with my credentials, but not through outlook. Server responds that I am not authenticated. Has anyone any advice?//Regards, Ulf

Initializing in MicroSoft outlook

I am experiencing the same problem. I can log in on the CEPTARA home page but cannot get the outlook add-in to initialize in my Outlook. I receive an error message that my credentials are recognized but a registration record is not found. I have my email with a receipt number. Then it says that it may take up to 48 hours to grant a license. I am now going on 11 DAYS waiting for some resolution. This is not the way to run the business...Fix this darn thing now!

register license

Hi,     I have a different problem to register license. I use Outlook 2010 and Windows 7 Ultimate. I register ceptara and login/password is ok and say me to restart Outlook to obtain full funtionality. The problem is, when I restart the changes not have effect and is the Trial Version Expired. How can I register and Outlook save the information? Another question is, How can I update ceptara?

Your questions:

1) How can I register and make sure the information gets saved?

Answer:
If you're running v3.5.1001 or earlier, there is a bug that can cause the storage location responsible for saving your registration information to be locked.  Which results in the behavior that appears to save / acknowledge the registration, but the next time Outlook is started appear that the registration need to be performed.

In order to remedy the issue, try Resetting the Application, Register the add-in, and restart Outlook to assure the registration has 'stuck'  You can then restore your project data by using the Restore button in the Options dialog.

2) How can I update the Organizer?

Answer:
The latest version of the add-in can be downloaded (which also updates an existing copy) from the download page: http://www.ceptara.com/products/organizer/download

Ceptara User Profile and International Characters

When the user's credentials are checked against Ceptara's server, if the user's profile (e.g. company name, full name, etc) has any international characters such as umulats(?), the XML parser does not yet know how to interpret them.  As a result, the authentication routine errors out.

A quick fix is to update your profile so that those special characters aren't used.

We're working on fixing that on our end, but have not yet closed on a solution.

User name vs. e-mail / Registration confirmation

As a recent registered user there are two things that come to my mind as possible causes:

  • At some point I was confused if my credentials were user name & password or e-mail & password. The former is the case.
  • Also, you need  to wait for the confirmation e-mail from Ceptara before the registration works on outlook.

problem registring through outlook

I have the same problem... Is there a solution yet??!!! If I login on the site: no problem. If I login through Outlook, registering window it says it does not authenticate. My trial has expired, so now I can't use the program although I've payed for it... 

Try the Trouble Registering Wizard

There is a 'Trouble Registering' wizard:

For Outlook 2007 - Outlook Tools - Options, Ceptara Organizer tab.

For Outlook 2010 - Outlook File - Options, Add-in Tab, Add-in Options button.

Please try the steps and send an error report if you run into trouble.

Had the same problem..'Trouble Registering' fixed it.

Upgraded versions to 3.5.1006 but the symptom persisted.  The RESET option made me nervous about losing my projects (I wish there was a clearer description of how restore works after  a reset.)The 'Trouble Registering' process Chris described did it for me.   Thanks Chris.

trouble registering

I tried that before, but no I have succeeded! The problem was with the SSL thing (-;I had to take away the default settings. I don't know how to explain better. But I'm very glad it's working again!! Irene
