Removing Old Appointments and E-Mails from Project View
Tue, 04/12/2011 - 12:33 — bmccjohn
Noticed that when looking at a project, the old meetings and e-mails associated with the project are also displayed. However, even though the meeting is past or the e-mail has been closed, there does not appear to be a way to remove this from the view.
I understand the need to keep the appointment or event associated with the project, but is there a way to exclude it from the project explorer view so I am only looking at active or upcoming items.

Filtering in Project Explorer
Thanks for the note.
In the current version, there is no ability to filter on items in the Project Explorer's list or mind map views.
A way to see more recent items is to sort on date, so that the most recent items show up at the top or the bottom of the list.
Just Checking Back
Hey Chris,
Just checking back to see if any headway has been made on the filtering capabilities within the software. I love the software but the cluttered mess that the project explorer is becoming is maddening. With so many tasks, time tracking, appointments etc... for this to be really useful and allow you to focus on things in the GTD methodology, you have to be able to exclude old, outdated or unwanted appointments, tasks etc...
Please let us know when we might be able to expect some form of sorting/filtering in the software for excluding the completed tasks, appointments etc...

What about archiving?
Thanks for the note.
I had one quick thought - I tend to archive out older information. That is, move old appointments, mails, etc. to an archive folder out of the default folder set. I usually only keep about a month's worth of information in the default folder set and everything else is migrated to a local archive folder. I always know where to look if I need to find something in the past, but don't need to keep the information at my finger tips.
Just a thought.
thx
Chris
