Cannot Add Project in Outlook - Failed to create a project in the datastore.
Sun, 12/12/2010 - 15:38 — svthompson
Hi,
My projects disappeared from Outlook, I am syncing with Toodledo and my iPhone. I have tried to add them back and I keep getting this message
"Failed to create a project in the datastore. Unexpected end of file has occurred. The following elements are not closed: Project, POSDataStore, dsPOSDataStore. Line 233, posiiton 6"
I have tried to restore - but my backups seemed to have disappeared as well.
Any help would be appreciated.

Reset Application
Sharon -
If the backups aren't working for you, please try to Reset the Application. Go to Outlook's tools-options (Outlook 2007), select the Ceptara Organizer tab, and press the Options button. Select the Tools tab and press the System Tools button. You can then Reset the application.
You will need to rebuild your projects and focuses. The Outlook objects will still be categorized to your projects and the Master Category list should provide you a list to use in re-populating your project list.
thx
Chris
Seems very easy to lose data
Seems very easy to lose data like this. Have had the same problem and apparently dataset is there to be restored. However, when restoring, there is no data restored. Problem occurs when alteration made to My Card. Rebuilding project lists each time this goes wrong is a lame answer. There has to be a better solution to this problem.
Using a BlackBerry
If you're using a BlackBerry to sync to your Outlook calendar, there is a possibility that the sync'ing process will truncate the data store (a future appointment). By limiting the future transactions that get sync'd with the BB, e.g. sync any appointments that occur on or before 2050, will eliminate the problem.
